The Website Screenshots addon captures thumbnail images of listing websites to display on listings and listing results which do not have a logo.
Allows integration with these thumbnail providers:
|
The addon uses CRON to automatically load screenshots of the listings. This improves efficiency and reduces load times of listings without a website screenshot. The addon also uses caching and stores a local copy of the website thumbnail.
After the initial screenshot is captured and cached the "Website Screenshot Cache Days" setting determines how many days must pass before the screenshot gets updated again.
Configuration
The addon may be configured at
Depending on the screenshot service used, you will most likely need to obtain an ID or API number or key from that service provider. Visit their website or contact the provider to obtain this key. Once obtained enter the key in the API Key/ID field.
|
The maximum width of the image captured depends on the thumbnail provider used. In the settings the screenshot width may be specified. This width generally should be below the maximum width of the thumbnail provider. The maximum widths are displayed below. If a width is set higher than the thumbnail provider maximum width distortion or blurring may occur.
Provider |
Maximum Width |
|---|---|
Thumbshots.org Free/Paid |
120 / 480 |
Thumbalizr |
300 |
PageGlimpse |
430 |
SnapCasa |
280 |
A width for a smaller version of the screenshot may also be specified in the settings that will be used in listing results and search results. This setting can be used to match the screenshot widths with your normal listing logos. The smaller screenshot will be scaled down proportionally meaning the height will be set automatically based on the original screenshot image.
